It was a beautiful day across Arkansas with clear skies and temperatures reaching into the upper 60s. The clear skies will continue overnight and into not only tomorrow but the rest of the week! Expect sunny skies, with maybe a few scattered clouds, but nothing to hamper your plans throughout the week. Highs will be reaching near 80 degrees on Wednesday and Thursday with Tuesday and Friday still holding steady in the lower-mid 70s. Lows will stay relatively warm for Spring in the lower 50s. What will all this warmer weather bring? It will bring a chance for rain and thunderstorms once again this weekend for much of the Natural state. So far it looks as though the rain will hold off until Saturday morning, and possibly even until late Saturday. If you have any outdoor plans this would be a great week to get them done, especially if the rain chances become more and more likely. Have a fantastic finish to your March!-Zach Green!

More storms this afternoon
Good morning to all! A batch of showers and thunderstorms moved through our state last night. No severe weather was reported with any of these storms. We are dry and sunny right now. The question is how long will we stay sunny and how will the atmosphere destabilize in that time? Another round of showers and storms will move through central Arkansas this afternoon. If we get enough heating and atmospheric destabilization, the chance for stronger to isolated severe storms is possible. It will be something worth watching throughout the day. After the storms push out this afternoon, cooler and drier air will filter in. Expect temps tonight in the lower 30's. Highs will be back in the 70's by Saturday! Make it a great Thursday everybody!~Stephen

Super-soaker Thursday
Good morning folks! Clouds built in over night and will stay with us through much of the day. Some peaks in the clouds will allow temps to warm near 70 this afternoon. A series of cold fronts in the plains are marching east. As they do chances for thunderstorms increase as we head into the late evening and overnight hours. For storms that occur over night, the sever threat looks to be limited. The better chance for severe development will be tomorrow afternoon. We will be monitoring the situation very closely and bringing you the latest as information becomes available. Zach will have the latest forecast today at 5.~Stephen!

Spring-like Weather Arrives
After a wacky late-winter storm Spring-like weather finally arrives two days after the storm. It dumped a foot of snow in Fayetteville, Arkansas. In Mckinney, Texas they recieved 7 inches! Most of that snow will have melted away by now and all will be gone by tomorrow afternoon as we are expected to make it into the 70s. The highs in the 70s will stick around until Friday, after a cold front moves in Thursday bringing rain chances to the state. It looks to be a fast moving system, maybe a few marginally severe storms, but mainly rain and completely out of the state by Saturday with sunny skies and temperatures trying to make it back to the 70s again on Saturday. Over the weekend Searcy received 0.48 inches of rain bringing the monthly totals to 0.85 and the yearly totals to 4.81. Enjoy the beautiful spring days as before we the active severe weather really gets going! Have a wonderful Monday night!- Zachary Green.

Welcome Spring!
Good Saturday to everybody! Expect clouds to continue to build in throughout the day. The radar is continuing to show a line of slow moving showers and thunderstorms in western Arkansas. As they continue to move east, chances for showers and storms will increase throughout the day. Expect a super-soaker for Sunday. Behind this cold front, temps will be in the lower 30's at night. A few flurries could be possible as far east as Searcy, but no accumulation is expected. As far as the severe threat, that has been relegated to mostly the Gulf Coast. It is possible that afew storms this evening and tomorrow could be strong with gusty winds and hail. Tuesday and Wednesday our highs will get back into the 70's. Another system moves in late in the week bringing our next chance for rain. Have an awesome weekend~Stephen!

Fantastic Friday!
Good morning! It is certainly turning out to be a fantastic Friday. Blue skies and warm temps will be the rule today. Temps will top out in the lower 70's. Thunderstorms will be more prevalent towards the late evening hours and into Sunday. Expect some t-storms to be strong at times with strong wind gusts and some isolated hail. Spring is almost here!
Good evening folks! Two day left until spring arrives. Tomorrow will feel more like Spring than Saturday. Expect high's near 70 with abundant sun. Winds will be breezy from the south at 6-12 mph. Throughout the night Friday and into Saturday clouds will build back in ahead of our next cold front. Thunderstorms will be likely in the evening on Saturday and into the day on Sunday. The severe weather situation still needs monitoring, and as always we'll be checking the latest forecasts and keeping you informed. Also today from 4:30-6:30 the meteorologists from KARK 4 News in Little Rock will be at the Kroger on Race Street selling NOAA weather radios. This would be a great time to purchase one if you haven't already, given the chance of this weekends severe weather. Have a great evening~Stephen!
An interesting weekend shaping up
Good morning! Overnight, clouds broke and winds shifted out of the southwest. This means we warm into the middle 60's today and into the lower 70's tomorrow. Overnight lows will still be in the 40's. The weekend forecast is very interesting at this time. Saturday night into Sunday morning look like the best time for thunderstorms. The Severe Storm Prediction Center in Norman, Oklahoma keeps shifting its severe risk area. Where storms occur, expect gusty winds and hail. Tornadoes shouldn't be ruled out either. We'll continue to monitor the situation tonight, tomorrow, and into the weekend as they develop. Some areas in NWA culd even see some snow flurries before all of this is said and done. Have a great day~Stephen Goodale

Chance for Severe Storms!
After a sunny, but cool start to our day, the clouds rolled in with no moisture to play with we ended up dry in Searcy! With the first day of Spring coming Saturday, it will bring with it a chance of storms for Arkansas. Patchy fog will be around tomorrow morning but will give way to clear skies. In addition to the clearing skies, northwest winds will become southwest and allow the temperatures to rise into the 70s on Friday. For Friday, expect the clear skies to stick around most of the day, however the clouds will increase late. Saturday a cold front will bring chances of severe weather across much of the region and behind it some very cool temperatures. We will continue to monitor the latest forecasts and bring you up to date with the latest information on the upcoming weather event this weekend. Happy St. Patrick's Day!-Zach Green.A warming trend!
Top o' the mornin' to all! Happy St. Pat's day! We started out chilly this morning with lows in the lower 40's. Expect highs today in the low 60's with mostly sunny skies. For tonight some patchy fog could settle into the area, lows will be in the lower 40's. As high pressure builds back in, winds ill shift from north to south and provide warmer temps. We could make it into the lower 70's on Friday. The weekend is what is starting to look interesting. If we make it into the 70's on Friday, with enough atmospheric destabilization, central Arkansas could see another batch of severe weather. We'll continue to monitor the latest forecast and keep you informed of the latest. Have a lucky, St. Patrick's day!~Stephen Goodale

Has Spring sprung early?
Good evening. Although spring doesn't officially begin until Saturday, with the warm temps we've had you would think spring is already here. Tonight expect temps in the low to mid 40's with clouds still around. For St. Patty's day expect clouds in the morning and then becoming mostly sunny toward afternoon, with high's in the low 60's. Sunny skies and temps near 70 will be the rule as we go toward the end of the week. We will continue to monitor the weekend forecast for development of severe weather as our next cold front is set to swing through. Have a great evening!~Stephen Goodale
Comfy Spring Temps!
Good morning! Clouds hung around over night as upper level low pressure continues to swing across the region today. Not much in the way of rain, although there will be a possibility for some showers later on Wednesday. As we head toward the end of the week, sunny skies and high's near 70 will be the rule. We will be keeping an eye on Saturday, as it looks like some severe thunderstorms could develop with the passing of our next cold front. Make it a great day!~Stephen Goodale

Comfy and dry
Good afternoon. As high pressure builds in over the south central US, winds will begin to shift out of the south making for warm temperatures ad dry conditions. Expect another cold one tonight with temps in the mid 20's. Lots of sunshine will be the rule for the next couple of days with temps hovering near 60. The weekend looks good too. Our next chance for rain comes on Monday. If your getting an early jump on spring break, travel around most of the country looks superb. A few hiccups in air travel on the coasts are the only noteworthy things to mention at this time.~Stephen Goodale

Could it be?
Good afternoon! We've been under cloud cover for most of the day. Temps have struggled to get into the mid 40's as forecast. Clouds should begin to break as we go toward evening. Expect temps to fall below freezing again tonight. Tomorrow we'll push 50 with mostly sunny skies. As high pressure builds and settles in over the central part of the US, dry conditions and highs in the 60's and 70's will be the rule through the weekend. Any Spring Break travel plans to the south should be rain free through the weekend. The next chance for rain comes on Monday. We'll have to keep an eye out for severe development with his system.~Stephen Goodale

High and dry
Good evening Arkansas! Isolated showers will be the rule for tonight. The bulk of the heavy showers and storms will stay into southern Arkansas. Temps overnight will fall to near freezing. Showers will end in the early morning. Tomorrow we start out mostly cloudy, but by the afternoon clouds will give way to sunshine. Highs will be in the mid 40's. We stay dry the rest of the week with temps in the 50's pushing 60 by the weekend. Have a wonderful evening~Stephen Goodale

Tricky forecast
Good afternoon! A cool day today with temps in the middle 40's. Clouds will continue to increase throughout the day. Expect lows to fall around freezing. For the overnight it gets alittle tricky. NWS is calling for slight chances for snow, but the 12Z run for both GFS and NAM didn't hit on anything this far north. So it all depends on where the low tracks. I'm airing on the side of caution and going with slight POPS and am flurries. If anything falls, there will be little to no accumulation. We stay dry through the weekend with Highs breaking 50 on Sunday. Still cold at night with lows in the middle 20's. Have a blessed day~Stephen Goodale

Cold and dry
Good Tuesday afternoon to all! We started off today near average in the upper 20's. High temps will stay well below average, only making it into the lower 40's. Winds will be gusty from the North 6-12 mph. Overnight expect winds to calm down and temps to fall into the lower 20's. We stay cold and dry until the end of the week, when our next system arrives out of Texas. The best chance for storms will be Friday night. Enjoy your day~Stephen Goodale

Highs in the 60's?
Good afternoon. Temperatures have been creeping closer and closer to normal over the past few days. Expect lows tonight to be above average, in the lower 40's with a slight chance for isolated showers. Slight rain chances continue tomorrow. Highs could break the 60's. A cold front will pass through Sunday with a chance for thunderstorms. Showers and storms will come to an end Monday morning. Temps behind the front will be in the upper 20's and lower 30's at night and in the 40's during the day. Enjoy your weekend~Stephen Goodale

Warmer temps on the way
One more night of below freezing temperatures before we get a nice warm-up. High temps will be near 50 for the rest of the week and lows will be near 40. A weak cold front will move out of the plains to give us our next chance for rain late Friday. In addition to being warm, expect rain everyday until at least Monday morning.~Stephen Goodale
